Texas Manufacturing Assistance Center to Share Alibre Design with Manufacturers

RICHARDSON, Texas, September XX, 2002 - Alibre Inc. is working with UT-Arlington's Texas Manufacturing Assistance Center (TMAC), Metroplex Region to improve the competitiveness of small to medium-sized Texas manufacturers.

Alibre Inc. donated 150 seats (licenses) of Alibre Design to the University of Texas at Arlington via the TMAC Metroplex Region, which is part of UTA's College of Engineering. TMAC will sponsor training and demonstration of the Alibre Design package in a computer laboratory at the Automation & Robotics Research Institute (ARRI) located in NE Fort Worth. In addition, selected TMAC Metroplex staff members will receive training in the use of Alibre Design. Alibre's donation authorizes non-profit or education use of the software at ARRI, the College of Engineering and other TMAC regional offices around the state.

"Providing appropriate technologies to smaller manufacturing enterprises is part of the TMAC mission," stated Drew Casani, director of the TMAC program. "We strive to educate and inform our customers about what is available in the market, and our work with Alibre should contribute to improving the competitive advantage of Texas manufacturers."

"By providing Alibre Design to TMAC, it will help them deliver a definitive and timely advantage for Texas manufacturers in a difficult economy," said J. Paul Grayson, Alibre president and CEO. "Because it is easy to learn and use, Alibre Design is an excellent tool for manufacturers to go from 2D drafting to sophisticated 3D solid modeling. Plus, they gain experience with next-generation tools such as our integrated online team design."

Alibre Design is differentiated by its low $495 price, easy-to-learn interface, and the inclusion of training, support and upgrades-factors that make it attractive for smaller enterprises.
