Software Industry Veteran Jeremy Jaech Joins the Alibre Board of Directors
RICHARDSON, Texas, April 9, 2003 -- Alibre today announced that Jeremy Jaech has joined the company's board of directors.
Jaech is best known as co-founder of Aldus Corporation and Visio Corporation, which he also led as president and CEO. Aldus launched an era of desktop publishing in 1985 through its introduction of PageMaker software, an application that allows users to mix type and graphics on the same page. Jaech managed the development of all Aldus products through 1989. In 1990, Jaech and two others founded Visio Corporation, which introduced software that enabled information-technology professionals and engineers to diagram, visualize, document and share ideas including flowcharts, organization charts and office layouts. Microsoft acquired Visio in 2000 and Jaech became vice president of the Visio Division for Microsoft Corporation. His technology background includes the development of a computer-aided design system for the Boeing 777 in the early eighties. A native of the Northwest, Jaech holds degrees in math and computer science from the University of Washington.
Jaech also serves on the board of directors for RealNetworks, Pivotal Corporation, Vizx Labs and Performant.
"I'm very impressed with Alibre's software and people," said Jaech. "It has a great future as a leader in the CAD software industry. I look forward to contributing to its success."
"We're very pleased that Jeremy has joined our board," said J. Paul Grayson, Alibre president and CEO.
