Alibre Design Professional Offered in Multi-Seat Bundle

Increasing multiple seat purchases fueled by both new and existing customers

RICHARDSON, Texas, May 11, 2004 - Alibre Inc., the maker of Alibre Design™, the easiest to use and most accessible 3D mechanical CAD application on the market, is now offering a five-license bundle of Alibre Design Professional targeted to meet the needs of small to medium-sized companies and workgroups looking to start or expand their 3D CAD use. Alibre Design Professional is an extended version of Alibre Design that includes photorealistic rendering, integrated sheet metal design, DesignCheck FEA software from ALGOR, VisualMill CAM software from MecSoft and the Alibre Part Library. The price of the five-license bundle represents a 30% discount from the suggested retail price. Contact Alibre or an authorized Alibre reseller for details.

"Having access to multiple seats was an extremely important consideration for us," said Mike Graffam, engineering manager, FHC, Inc. "We initially looked very closely at the competition but given our limited budget I found myself trying to cut down on the number of licenses we could get by with. Eventually I realized that by buying licenses for only our full-time CAD users we would be leaving out a whole slew of people whose ideas and contributions are integral to the creative nature of the design process."

Graffam continued, "Frankly, as Alibre Design is priced at nearly one-tenth that of the competition, we were all wondering what the catch was. All of us here have been thrilled to find that there just isn't one. I am quite impressed with the software; the training material is excellent and the technical help we have received to date has been top notch."

"I work at a smaller manufacturing company with an engineering /CAD department of six," said David Van Zet, manufacturing engineering supervisor, Boyd Lighting Company. "We initially looked at the three most popular mid-range MCAD packages, but they cost $5000 or more per seat, plus another $1000 annual support fee. I just couldn't get the funding for six seats. One of the engineers came across an Alibre Design demo disk in a trade journal, so I loaded the CD, got a free trial license and tried it out. Starting out at around $500 per seat I was skeptical that it was the real deal. After learning it and using it to model some of our new designs, it was an easy sale to my boss. For the cost of the annual support fee of other packages we were able to purchase Alibre Design, and we got all six seats."

"We're seeing a rapidly increasing number of multiple license orders and are optimizing our product offering to accelerate that trend," said Greg Milliken, president and CEO of Alibre. "What I find most gratifying is that these orders are coming from both existing and new customers. With existing customers the product is proving that it's everything we say it is. Many new customers are putting Alibre Design through comprehensive benchmarks against systems like SolidWorks and Inventor, and we're winning."

Alibre develops and markets Alibre Design, a parametric 3D solid modeler for mechanical design and manufacturing. One-tenth the cost of comparable software, Alibre Design delivers a unique combination of ease-of-use, rich functionality, extensive tutorials and real-time support via the Alibre Assistant. Customers may also share and edit product designs in real time with integrated online tools. Alibre Design is available in seven languages and distributed around the world. Founded in 1997, Alibre Inc. is privately funded and based in Richardson, Texas. For more information, visit www.alibre.com.
