Alibre CAM:
Powerful, fully integrated CAD/CAM
If you're a manufacturing professional, you know the value of powerful yet simple CAM software. The problem with most stand-alone CAM software is that it does one thing - produce toolpaths. Some packages boast rudimentary design functionality, or the ability to slightly edit models. But none of them can compare to the mature design capabilities found with Alibre CAM's full integration with Alibre Design. Quite simply, there isn't a better design and machining combination on the market for the price.
2.5 to 5 Axis Machining Strategies
See the full list of machining operationsAlibre CAM Expert offers a complete range of machining strategies in a simple, straightforward workflow. Built on technology that is in production use in thousands of machine shops worldwide, it produces results that work, and work well. 2.5 axis milling, hole drilling/tapping, and 3, 4, and 5 axis milling operations are represented by 40 distinct machining types, ensuring that whatever your process requires, the results will be efficient and effective.

It's all about the workflow
If you have no design requirements and just need to create toolpaths, Alibre CAM delivers an easy to use interface that presents the steps in the order you need to take them in. The interface is designed to guide you through the entire toolpath creation and verification process, from defining stock and tools to creating toolpaths and simulating the results in a virtually cut model before you try a single cut on your machine. You work from left to right, defining what you need along the way.

Left to Right, Top to BottomFirst setup your machine type and stock, then your tools, then begin creating maching operations (MOPs). |
If you design your parts, or need to modify them in any capacity, Alibre Design and Alibre CAM become even more powerful together. All toolpaths are fully associative - that means when you change the model your toolpaths will update automatically. No need to redo everything just because you moved the location of a hole or made the depth or shape of a pocket different than it was when you made your toolpaths initially. Simple, powerful, and cost effective.
Standard and Custom Tools
Alibre CAM provides a fully customizable tool library, allowing you to easily modify the software to fit your machining requirements. Pick from 15 preset tool types and fully define each to make reusable tool libraries that you can change and add to over time.

Comprehensive Toolpath Simulation and Verification
Before you send toolpaths to your CNC machine, you can use a variety of integrated tools to ensure their accuracy. Click Play to watch an animation of the machine tool as it traverses the toolpath, view a cut simulation and watch as material gets removed from the stock in real time, check for machine tool collisions, and perform a tolerance analysis to see how the machining operations will cut the part compared to the CAD data to see where over and under cuts require refinement.
Precise Control
Alibre CAM gives you the ability to customize nearly every machining parameter for exact control. From your plunge speed to your approach motion to your finishing tolerance, everything is fully definable, ensuring you get precise and efficient output. The dialogs are graphically rich, providing a clear understanding of the effects of any changes.
Feedback Early and Often
Alibre CAM has several tools that allow you to modify your machining strategy based on estimated real world conditions, such as total time to machine your parts. You can try alternative machining methods or use different machine tools to minimize the total machine time, as well as use the data to forecast your machine utilization.
Post Processors
See the full list of built-in post processorsAlibre CAM comes with around 150 post processors for the most popular CNC machines from around the world. If your machine isn't supported, we'll work with you to customize a post processor and get your machine up and running. All post processors are fully customizable.
