SprutCAM for Alibre Design is a special version of the powerful SprutCAM 3D milling application which permits Alibre Design Expert users to manufacture their 3D designs using CNC machines. SprutCAM is used around the world by small and medium-sized manufacturers and offers capabilities found in systems costing many thousands of dollars.
SprutCAM for Alibre Design supports 2, 2.5, 3 and 3.5-axis machining operations on CNC milling machines, and is ideal for the manufacture of punches, molds, model prototypes, master-models, patterns, etc. The easy to use system supports roughing, finishing, drilling, engraving and a variety of other advanced machining operations.
Alibre Design Expert users can automatically load their 3D models into SprutCAM from an integrated menu. Then it is a simple process to choose machining methods and associated machining parameters and start cutting parts. The system is easy to learn and supports a variety of powerful machining capabilities including tools that help analyze the model and select the optimal machining parameters to minimize machining time while maintaining quality.
SprutCAM for Alibre Design provides a number of automated functions to simplify and speed up machining operations. Some examples include:
- Definition of commonly used machining procedures
- Correct machining of gaps and intersections between surfaces
- Analysis and automatic modification of incorrect surfaces
- Undercut control during toolpath computation
- Highlighting and machining of unfinished areas
- Minimization of "idle" tool movements during machining
- Reduction of machining time based on selection of optimal machining methods
- Computation of cutting modes and machining time
SprutCAM for Alibre Design is a special version of SprutCAM that runs for one year and provides all the features of the full SprutCAM application for three months. The application continues to operate for an additional nine months as a powerful production milling application; however some of the more sophisticated features are disabled. A short description of the application and the features available during the first 3 months is provided below.
Product Features - First three months
The initial 3 months of use starts when SprutCAM for Alibre Design is installed; all features of the full SprutCAM application are available. Machining methods include:
- Plane roughing and finishing
- Waterline roughing and finishing
- Drive roughing and finishing along/across leading curves
- Profile machining
- Complex finishing
- Optimized plane machining
- Area clearance
- Engraving
