Top down design without multi-body solids has always been more headache for me than it's worth. So I'd love to see other methods of achieving it.

I can barely figure out half of this stuff if it has documented methods! I'll post an update if I stumble upon a method.

Actually that's perfect, because I'm using template parts and importing spreadsheet values to create the various sizes I need. So can I modify an external cosmetic thread via Alibre Script?

Oh, that's perfect. Thanks @idslk! It looks like Alibre stores the mass in kg regardless of your part or assemblies units, so *2.205 gets me to lbs. Everything makes sense except the script. It isn't putting the value into the custom property. Any idea what I'm missing?

Getting the part weight into the title block seems to have been a problem for a while now. Like this post from 2006. My current solution is to add a 1-line BOM with just the weight. I made a BOM template for it, but you can't hide the top row. If you delete the "Weight" in the top row...

Thanks for the reply Max. When I have issues I'll send them to support so we can determine if this in a 1) or a 2) issue. Almost all of my parts are round with custom threads, so I wonder if having the threads cut into the model is the culprit.

This problem has been around for years and years, but remember in V23 SP1 when they fixed this and we never had problems with it again? Yeah, me either. Has anyone found a workflow methodology that actually fixes this bug? What about a special prayer you say before re-projecting? I'll try...

Thanks for the quick responses. This is version: V21 64-bit [Build 21034]. Legacy Display being enabled was the problem! I had turned it on a few updates ago when it was required for not screwing up drawings. Thanks!
