This is the image I need to import and create a part from. I know that it is 100 times faster just to measure and create the part, but it's the process I once used and have forgotten.
In the past, I recall that I imported an image and used an Alibre tool to measure e.g. a known distance, line...
I remember that I once did a measurement on a figure in order to scale it to be 1:1, the trouble is I don't recall how I went about it.
I did a search and got the dxf elements into my part but with the wrong dimensions.
Thanks

I, too, have used this service many a time, but always used .stl files, and never had a problem.
Is there a reason for the use of a step file being, e.g., more precisse, or?
Just curious, and hoping to learn from you all

I'm watching a number of very informative videos on YouTube.
The latest one on "Paint and Chain" select. It looked as if the chain select was reached by a right click in the sketch, and there it appeared.
Except not in mine, It looked like :)
So do I need to enable such a select tool...
Well, you are, of course, correct! :-)
Stupid me, I clicked on the black rectangle saying "All Keyshot versions," not thinking to click on the most obvious enormous square saying "latest" version.
I finally got it.
Thanks !!
That's a good spot to download from, but the Keyshot there is also "only" version 10 :)
So maybe I just have to be patient and wait for Alibre to update it to V 11?
Thanks
I just watched a tutorial on Youtube relating to Keyshot and the video shoved a version 11.
I do have Alibre Expert but am on version 10 of Keyshot.
How do I go about getting the newer version?
Thanks

I stared myself blind looking for that "extra" point, never saw it :-)
And yes, simpler is always better, although when I started on this I felt that it was a simple design, but a good suggestion.
I never thought about this as a 3D design as I just needed a 2D drawing for the outline of a PCB...
I did go through all of the suggestions above and have learned a lot.
I started a new version of my design for each post and did as proposed.
Virtually all went well, but for Harold's approach, where there's one element that I have trouble with.
I liked the minimum number of measurements...
What am I missing in order to get my design fully defined?
I often get frustrated when creating measurements for a design, and I get all my lines "orange", and in my current case, even one black, but I still can't figure out which measurement I'm missing to get them all black.
It doesn't...
As often happens, I mistook the problem to be on the Alibre side, and not my lack of experience with my new Schematic/PCB creation tools.
So it's resolved after I figured out how to fill the dxf "image" with parts.
Sorry, and thanks for your feedback!

It's been a while since I last tried to make use of an Alibre exported *.dxf file. Searching previous posts found that it was a topic touched upon a long time ago, or I didn't find the newer ones, so please excuse me if this is a repeat.
I'm designing a printed circuit board and I find the...
Thanks a lot, both!!
I got on to this design via Ken226's recommendation to look at some designs at "Studycadcam," which I think initially was a link from you, Harold.
While watching your Video, I noticed that your right-click brought up some "icons" rather than a list of tools; see the...
Interesting topic!
But my PC froze up when I started to go through, opening edit for, the individual design steps, using the attached design in your last post.
I just updated to Alibre Design 26.0.0.26040.

I have only tried this feature once before, with success I might add :)
I manage to "scale" the image and hit OK and then, as I hit the "OK" button the image I imported disappears!
I'm sure it's something simple but I'm lost...
Please advise
Thanks
