I can't put into words how much I hate PC's but it is what it is. The lack of Mac support is the singular complaint that I have for Alibre. Hopefully by the time my new PC is in need of replacement Alibre will be supported on Macs.

So far it's blazing fast with no lag. I'm currently modeling a heavyweight passenger car with hundreds, if not thousands, or rivets on it. My old PC was lagging so bad that I quite working on the file. This one certainly appears to be up to the task and once I'm in Alibre I'm enjoying myself again.
Worth every penny.
I remember in around 2010 I was working on Inventor, creating sewage plant on early xeon based systems and the files were so large that if I touched the model it would take an hour to update.
Drove me crazy !
Modern CPUs are so much better.

For Windows users, as a baseline, you can open the Task Manager alongside Alibre and try to find your bottleneck. Just start working and watch the numbers/graphs. As previously mentioned the complexity of your model(s) will dictate alot. Possible bottlenecks are:
- CPU/chipset
- Dedicated System Memory
- Integrated GPU in CPU w/shared memory
- Dedicated GPU w/dedicated memory
- Disk media (SATA/SSD, NVMe, etc.)
- The physical Display
You can then 'tune' the system accordingly (SW Settings/HW Upgrades). In my case, I disabled the Integrated GPU to insure that the dedicated GPU (which costs more than all of the other components combined) was being utilized. Hope this helps, a bit...

My memory is running at 34% with nothing but Task Manager open. There's a metric ton (110) Background Processes running. Are all of those necessary?
I also feel like I'm in a drunk simulator when I'm trying to rotate my designs with my mouse. It's crude, jumps all over the place, and it's nearly impossible to fine tune anything. Is the culprit my mouse or something internal?

Re: background processes, at startup I have 80 background and 111 Windows processes running so that should not be an issue especially if your CPU/Memory percentage is low.
Note: your monitor can also come into play regarding its specs such as response time, refresh rate, etc...
Also, the way I 'tune' my systems is by using a detailed hardware monitor such as 'Libre Hardware Monitor'. Opensource/free. It not only shows you intimate detail of your system, but logs maximums while running which are hard to measure real-time.
It also has a desktop widget you can customize for ongoing monitoring...

Hi Jacob
Given you have a Dell XPS15 9530 you 'should' be seeing quite good performance - but the devil is in the detail..
As @DavidJ says, you do need to check the Alibre settings to ensure the dedicated high performance GPU is being used and not the GPU integrated with the CPU.
I'm guessing you have an Nvidia 4060 or 4070 - either should work quite well.
If you are experiencing poor refresh rate, it seems likely something is taking up all the GPU or CPU time - use task manager to identify what is using all the PC resources and stop any problematic foreground/background processes as appropriate.
TBH, I'm not sure how a hardware monitor (as suggested by @JASII ) would help - most likely it will just consume even more resources.
Finally - signature - an i9-13700 can run at up to 5.4GHz - fast!! But I guess it only does that when pressed - might be worth checking windows performance settings.

With all due respect, Task Manager and Hardware Manager consume roughly the same amount of resources as shown below:
TASK manager is aptly named as its main pupose is to monitor and manage tasks & processes. Its performance monitoring can help identify glaring bottlenecks but is not granular enough for fine tuning.
Case in point is I am currently having an issue with one of my other single threaded apps that seems to love my CPU Core #11:

I followed the video and the authors PC was nearly identical to mine. I did select the NVDIA GPU for Alibre as it was not selected. The only difference is that mine says GPU 1- Copy instead of GPU 1- 3D. Not sure if that's an issue. My NVDIA is sitting int he GPU 1 slot.
