Anyone using Alibre to >>>

Here is what I need to do. I have a large plasma table that uses DXF files to cut out sheet metal parts. I currently use AutoCad and everything works well. Just wondering if anyone out there has tried using Alibre to sketch 2D tool paths for something similar? Does anyone know if you can use the "layer" feature in Alibre like the layers in Autocad? I ask because my Plasma table software only recognizes DXF files with 2 layers with specific names. The plasma table software is quite primitive.

Thanks for any response.

I export 2D DXF files for use with my CAM software, and everything seems to work fine. As far as the layers thing goes you can't delete the defualt layers, but you can add new ones with any name.

We have a Multicam plasma table here, and I've been exporting my Alibre drawings as DXFs and importing those directly into our nesting software. Sounds like I'm using an extra layer between CAD and the actual plasma unit, but I've had no issues with Alibre-exported DXFs.
