Could you share an example Alibre file with setup Swordfish .gh? This is the graph with Alibre Face for hatching.

Please give the link of your add-on grasshopper (free) plus your example for try tomorrow. If I fill ok I will make its with Swordfish.
 
I’ll publish it to food4rhino this week. It only supports planar surfaces. Swordfish and Alibre examples are only required to ensure it works.
 
I won’t be able to help you any further. I’m releasing my old Alibre/Grasshopper components, no ETA. The new paid version is for v29 and weldment workflows. I’ve always used Rhino/Grasshopper and Alibre side by side for structural design. I mention those plugins because they are made for Alibre Design and Grasshopper. My focus was on two things: creating Alibre Design scripting/API resources and solutions. Now I’m done.

If you want to proceed with the addon updates create issues on GitHub. If you’re only looking for free stuff then that’s where to go.

If that’s not what you want to do then someone else can help you. You expecting everything is free is wild. I’ve been here trying to help jump start projects and give real world examples. If someone wants to buy something, great. If not great. But your emphasis on (free) is very telling.

I’m talking about Grasshopper plugins. Look for the AlibreTools plugin on food4rhino (late this week or next week) for more Alibre and Grasshopper tools. Create GitHub issues if you want me to add something. I’m not helping here in this way anymore. I’ll have projects configured for issues and ways to make requests. If that’s not what you want then sorry. I’ve tried to make it work. I would love to collaborate with you and the community to help Alibre Design grow but it seems like you don’t want that. You want something done for free? When you put emphasis on “free” that means you don’t value the thing you’re asking for. How does that work? You could have asked how much and I could say $0.10. You don’t know how much it will cost. You’re basically saying I’m not paying for it no matter what it cost. There are free and paid versions of software.
 
The updated plugin is for v29 weldments is not ready. The old plugin is where Alibre Face plugin comes from. I pulled it out of the plugin so you could get it early. The plugins have nothing to do with this thread. I was giving you alternatives because you sent me dm with swordfish plugin and asked me to take a look. I did and asked for example files so I could test them with Alibre Face.

@GIOV are you a Grasshopper user? I have Alibre components that could calculate the area moments via Grasshopper. I plan to publish a plugin for Alibre inside Grasshopper this weekend. Being a Rhino user it may be worth exploring. It could simplify your workflow.

Thank you, this is exactly what I need. I'll make a custom node for hydrostatic section calculations from selected face.

This is the node index site. The area moments node is located under Alibre -> Custom. Any new nodes or changes will be there.

When it's ready, I'll release the nodes as an Alibre addon.

AlibreObjectModel works in Rhino/Grasshopper plugins but not in the new code editors.

I had issues with the Rhino code editors loading my library. Alibre Face was pulled from that.
