Cannot pan after installing new mouse

Oh no!

I just got a new mouse (Logitech MX700), and cannot pan by pushing down the scroll wheel while moving the mouse.

It's programmable, so I can assign different functions to it. After trying all the obvious ones, and some not so obvious, it seems that I just can't get it.

Does anyone else have the same mouse and know what to do?

Is there a keystroke to pan? If so, I can just program that.

It's strange because my old mouse was also a Logitech cordless.

Does the scroll button work at all?

It sounds like maybe a driver issue (i.e. installing the on that came with the mouse as opposed to installing the Windows version).

Don't know other than that.
