Configuration BOM´s on Drawings

Hello.

I made one drawing from assembly file, which each configuration is on different pages of drawing. Because each configuration have different amount of parts, I want to put different configuration BOM on each page. Is this anyhow possible? I created already those separated config BOM´s, but I cannot import the second BOMlist on page#2, because page#1 have the BOMlist already.

Currently only one BoM per drawing is possible - regardless of number of sheets.

You'd have to do separate drawing of each config - which isn't so difficult now that you can save the drawing under a new name and then change the configuration it uses.

I do this with one assembly which has multiple configurations where size only changes, not the components, so a drawing was created with all the views and saved under a new name for each configuration. However, all the views have to be updated every time each one is opened. My thought is that AD must update the assembly for each of the different configurations which makes all the other drawings out of date. Is this correct?

Sorry Mulitcaduser, I'm not sure I understand the question... Did you use 'Save As' when creating each new file? Did you Save after changing the config target for the views?

Hi @DavidJ , thanks for replying. First the assembly was created with all the configurations and tested. All configurations updated without issue. Second a drawing was created with all the views and a bom and saved. Third a save as was done on the drawing only and the configuration changed to a different one, all the views and bom regenerated and all was good.

Then the first drawing was opened and all the views and bom needed regenerating. Fine. The the second drawing was opened with the same regeneration issue. This happens with every version of the drawing all created with a save as on the drawing only. I don't know how to explain this except the assembly gets modified every time the views are regenerated on a different drawing. Not a problem really, just an inconvenience.

Suggest you raise a ticket with support. I'm not clear from you description whether or not you used Save As...

Hi @DavidJ , I'll do that soon. Not sure how to submit a ticket with one assembly and multiple drawings but I'll figure it out. Sorry @Mika for hijacking your thread, and if you don't mind I'll post the response from support on this thread.

Simplest would to be to send in a Package file made form one of the drawings, and also send in the other drawing.
