Editing dynamic library parts

So I am just looking at using dynamic library parts. I can insert say an M4 x 12 pan head screw from the ISO fastner library into an assemby. It shows up in the design tree as an ISO1580 Pan head screw, but I cant see any indication to size & length anywhere. Where do I find this info short of measuring it, and how do I change it to say an M4 x 20?
Am I right in thinking the library parts are similar in principle to the ilogic parts & assemblies in Inventor? Is it possible to create configurable assemblies in the dynamic libary in a similar way?

You could edit the inserted part if you wish.

When you chose part from library there were size and length fields (drop down lists) to select to choose size and length. When you save the inserted file, you can name it whatever you wish.

The dynamic library hasn't been extended to assemblies - it just generates parts from 'recipes'. I believe that in principle the underlying technology could be extended - but it's a matter of how much interest is there for the amount of development effort required...

iLogic is the programming interface to the Inventor API, Alibre's, toolbox, catalog features, dynamic libraries and Inventor's content center, iparts and ifeatures are more comparable.

The toolbox might be better for (fasteners) picking a size or a configuration that are uniquely named by its size. I use dynamic libraries with configurations for more detailed and/or custom geometry not for standard fasteners.
