Exporting sheet metal flat part won't stay flat

When I go to create a drawing from a flat patten or unbent model the drawing comes out folded. I cannot export the unfolded version of events.
The unbend and flat pattern work on screen, but not when I try to create a drawing. There does not appear to be another way of creating a dxf.
I am using version 27.

Do not save the part flattened. When creating 2D drawing choose ' project as flat pattern' from the 'more options' button.
