Running Alibre Design on Windows 7 is no longer directly supported by Alibre Design. The updater will not be able to download v26. You must download it yourself and install it. Alibre Design downloads are found at:

Alibre has our installers available for download on our website for Alibre Atom3D, Alibre Workshop, and Alibre Design. Download Alibre CAD software!

Installing will then work fine but running the program will have errors. Specifically this one.

The program can't start because api-ms-win-core-path-l1-1-0.dll is missing from your computer. Try reinstalling the program to fix this problem.

Follow these steps to fix that:
Go to this github release and download api-ms-win-core-path-blender-0.3.1.zip
Next extract that somewhere temporarily.
Go to the x64 folder that just extracted and copy api-ms-win-core-path-l1-1-0.dll
Go to the V26 install folder into the Program folder and paste that dll there.
For reference that path on my pc is
C:\Program Files\Alibre Design 26.0.0.26040\Program
Start Alibre Design and it SHOULD work.

Thanks Nate I got v26 running on my Windows 7 laptop tonight with your help.
