If I understand you correctly - just type in the value that you want, or use the 'spinner' arrows, then go to the 'apply options' tab and choose 'system' or 'both'.

Just a tip... 350 is way to much and will only slow things down... Keep the setting to about 70 to get nice and smooth surfaces even on small objects (>0.1 mm).

Or is it a reason you want 350?

I think Eric is asking about something that I am trying to figure out also. While I know I can set the smoothness manually, can I change the default 18 to something else for all new models or do I have to make this change manually for every new model I start?

To make a value into the new system-wide default, you go to the 'apply options' tab and select 'system' or 'both'.
