Ok David, I am stuck on how you made multiple copies of the plates.

When I extrude mine, I cant figure out how to use the "linear pattern" function in order to make multiple copies?

Select Linear Pattern.
Select Extrusion<1>
Select Y axis.
Type in number of copies you require.

Did you read the Help Article that I linked?

Open the pattern tool; your previous extrusion is the feature to pattern. Specify a Direction - you can use an axis or a linear edge of existing geometry. Set the spacing and how many instances.

If preview looks good, hit OK, if not adjust the settings.


You can Right Click on the Feature Pattern in my example file and choose Edit - you'll see all the setting used.

Yes sir, I did read the article.

One of the problems I think I am having is that sometimes I feel so confused, its' hard to even ask a question.

For instance when you say "specify a direction" it took a long time to figure out how to do that, and I'm not even sure I did it correctly.
