How to unassemble an Assembly Boolean

I used Assembly Boolean to create a single part of all of the parts in my assembly. This was nearly 4 years ago and I may have done something wrong. Now I would like to use that assembly again (all as separate parts) but it has disappeared. Is it possible to "unassemble" the .sat back into the separate parts? I though possibly the file just got misplaced or saved unintentionally somewhere else but have searched everywhere. The odd thing is that the 2D drawing of the assembly still opens and all parts are visible.

I don't know the answer but recently someone posted about a small program called Everything by Voidtools, it is brilliant for finding mislaid files.

If the parts don't touch each other, export the Assembly Boolean as STEP, then re-import. It'll come back in as an assembly (though parts will be 'dumb').

If the parts touch then you can't readily separate when starting from the Boolean file.
