Installed latest version of Keyshot but cannot license.

I've got the latest version of Keyshot for Alibre (from the Alibre site) installed and licensed on my office PC.

However, I install this same version on my laptop and my original Keyshot license key (for version 5) is not recognised.

Could this be because I've installed all older versions of Keyshot from my laptop BEFORE installing this latest version.
Should I uninstall this latest version, install the earlier version, try activating that, and if successful try updating Keyshot or installing the latest version.

Or should my original license key work in the latest version regardless.
 
Keyshot for Alibre uses the presence of an activated installation of Alibre Design Expert as it's licence key. There is no licence key provided for Key shot.

Do not try using the activation option in Key shot, unless you have purchased a licence separately.

There can be issues with Keyshot finding Alibre, if another CAD system which also works with Keyshot has been installed - support can assist with that.
 
So if I currently have Alibre in use on my office PC, and the Alibre license is released on my laptop, does that mean Keyshot will not see an activated installation of Alibre.

Just making sure if temporary release of license is the same as de-activation.

I think I've just answered that question.
I completely uninstalled Keyshot, released the license on my office PC, and activated the license on my laptop.
Installed Keyshot and the "KEYSHOTFORALIBRE" serial was shown in the licensing.
Closed Keyshot, and released the Alibre license.
Now when I started Keyshot, it was unlicensed.
Re-activate the Alibre license and the Keyshot license is re-activated.

I never realised this because years ago when I first got Keyshot with Alibre, I had a separate license key.
Just got to remember that if I want to use my laptop to work on some rendering with Keyshot, I must transfer my Alibre license first.

Correct, if you release the licence activation, Keyshot won't work. It'll only work on the computer which has the Alibre Design Expert licence active.
