Is FreeCAD 1.0 finally ready?

I'm truly impressed with the performance of the sketcher. I think that even the sketcher alone is a great piece of software, free to use for anyone. I particularly liked how snappy it is, and the fact that it is listing all constraints and dimensions as a list, available for quick select/filtering etc.

FreeCAD v1.1 sketcher has improved but still feels like it is missing something. I haven't made anything serious either.

I have used both NX and SolidWorks extensively, I would put NX in front. For one, Siemens owns the parasolid kernel and does not share all the best features. This makes things like direct editing and surfacing in NX much better.

My opinion based on experience.

all the best features
It’s crazy how much feature depth is possible across all CAD packages. There is still room for innovation. FreeCAD is the best programmable CAD sketcher. I've always wanted the full 2D geometry and 3D freeform modeling tools from AutoCAD, Rhino or MicroStation inside parametric CAD.

As a CAD nerd, ProE is my favorite.
They started out as the number one solid modeler, I believe they became complacent and fell behind, at least for a while. As creatures of habit, we tend to fall in love with the first system we use, NX was not my first. It became my favorite. Like they say in the Top Gun movies, it's not the plane, it's the pilot.
