Keyshot DEMO version?

So I just downloaded and installed Keyshot 6 form the Support Centre. Opening it up gives this message:



Huh? Did I do something wrong (most likely) or did I miss an announcement?

Just downloaded it to update my laptop. Worked fine.

Maybe a licensing thing - have you ran GD with an internet connection recently? Or try re-booting.

Internet is constant on this PC (in the UK now so no more internet issues ;D )

Revisiting this topic:

Did that. Also used CCleaner to clean up things. Reinstalled but no luck... I still get that pesky message at the bottom.

I assume you did download from Geomagic not from Keyshot/Luxion ?

Yes. Uninstalled it.

I wonder if it has left something behind that is confusing things....

Check the Keyshot resources folder. If there is a Keyshot6.lic file , try renaming, deleting, moving it. (It looks like the .lic file is used for standalone versions - for 3DS versions, there is no .lic file, instead an entry in the keyshot6.xml files points the system to the 3DS licence).

I've found report of similar problem on Solid Edge forum.

Uninstalled any Keyshot that was on the system, searched for and deleted .lic files and did a registry cleanup using ccleaner.

Reinstalled Keyshot 6. This time I get the whole licensing thing:

Weird - it should just look at the Geomagic licence and sort itself out.

I can imagine that Keyshot might want to collect your data - did you select Geomagic or 3DS under 'software' - I guess that's where it gets the initial clue from.

Were you still on active maintenance as of 1/4/16?

KeyShot for 3D Systems (v6.x) requires active maintenance on or after 1/4/16.

KeyShot for 3D Systems (v5.x) requires active maintenance on or after 3/23/15.

David, I checked the previous installer. It is definitely Keyshot for Geomagic. I downloaded the latest version but haven't had the opportunity to try it out yet. Tomorrow first thing...
