This sucks ...

Can't use the software.

Anyone else experiencing this?

I called Alibre and spoke with a guy in sales who says that he's not sure what is happening, but mentioned a "new" company.

Just received a call back indicating the server is back up before I finished this post.

Was advised that a work around, should this happen again is to disconnect from the internet and launch Alibre, then reconnect. Alibre pings the license server upon launch, if connected. This action "renews" your 30 day use period. So, you use the software for 30 days without renewal (internet) after your most recent license server ping.

Actually, disconnect from network. If a network connection is available, it is assumed that an internet connection will also be available. Once past launch you can re-connect to network.

So - unplug ethernet cable, or disable WiFi adapter, launch Alibre, then reconnect/re-enable.

But yes, the licensing server was rebooted and is now running again.

If you are within 30 days of last licence check, then at launch,. If server can't be reached, the check will eventually time out, and software should launch. Just be patient, it can take while.

The licensing server has been down at least 30 minutes now.

I have tried every trick that I know and can't get the software to launch.

The link to the server status shows that the server is up & running.

What's going on?

How did you tell it was 'down' ? or did the message just say 'unable to reach' ?

There are alternate possible explanations - but I've only just found out that Microsoft's Azure system was undergoing scheduled maintenance, which disrupted Nalpeiron licensing.

Not yet clear why we were not warned in advance, nor why the problem is not acknowledged on the Nalpeiron Status page.
