Modelpress has an update

For those of you who use the ModelPress Reader or Publisher, Informative Graphics Corp (http://www.infograph.com) has a new application that is now in public beta (http://www.modelpress.com).

Below is the text quoted from "The Leading Edge" e-zine.

Viewer in Beta Release :: Informative Graphics Corp.’s ModelPress Desktop is currently available in open beta release. The application lets you view a variety of 3D file formats in a common user interface for little cost. It supports the Solid Edge, AutoCAD 3D DWF/DWG/DXF, Inventor, SolidWorks, IGES, STL, VRML, OpenHSF, XGL, SAT, 3DS, and IGC’s content secure 3DF formats.

ModelPress Desktop is a format extension of the company’s ModelPress Reader, a free 3D viewer that lets you view STL, VRML, HSF, and 3DF file formats. In addition, you can create 3DF files with the free ModelPress Publisher. You may download all three.

You can use ModelPress Desktop to view 3D CAD assemblies; visualize cross-sections and cutaways; take dimensions and measurements; identify and/or locate parts visually by name; and show part volume, mass, and center. The application also makes it possible to interactively convert 3D models to the company’s Visual Rights protected 3DF format. In addition, you can interactively publish portions of the model assembly with cutaways, dimension markups, or as pre-exploded representations.
