Over Constrained issue

I started a few months ago getting this error in 2D sketches: "The constraint cannot be defined, since it results in an over-constrained or inconsistent sketch."

Now even adding two new reference lines that have no constraints, and simply trying to make them parallel, gives me this error.

Currently using Alibre Design V28. No updates available.

Tried closing/restarting. No change.

I imagine this cannot be a general issue otherwise it would be driving a lot of people nuts... Anyone else having this problem?

Attached screenshot is of a very simple drawing. I get this error if I try to make two lines parallel, tangent or perpendicular, horizontal or vertical... I can set angles and dimensions.

If you try to add parallel constraint between two horizontal or two vertical lines, you'll get this error.
If you try to add perpendicular constraint between a horizontal and a vertical line, you'll get this error.

You'll have to review the constraints and remove the ones you may have added unintentionally while sketching the lines (called Inferred Constraints).
See the documentation by clicking here.

Been using Alibre for 10+ years.
I am not doing any of the things you suggest.
Inferred constraints are not the issue.

I only see one reference line in that image that doesn't have any constraints...

You have Tangent sketch constraint active - by definition that can't be applied to 2 lines.

We don't seem to have the whole story here.

Can you highlight the sketch figures that you are attempting to apply the tangent constraint to? That may help to clarify your issue.

This issue appears to be related to the NVidia RTX 4070 GPU drivers installed on this particular laptop.

Files that were created with an older Nvidia driver installed have this Over Constrained issue.

When I installed the latest NVidia drivers and Studio, new files do not have the Over Constrained issue. Older files still have this problem, so it appears that something happens when one creates new Alibre files or sketches that is related to the GPU drivers...

Seems strange that the drivers would have this effect, but that is at what appears to have been causing the issue.

Thanks.
