Photorenderer Locks up on Zoom or Rotate

Ever since I got Photorenderer (about a month ago) I have noticed that if I touch any of the ZOOM or ROTATE buttons, the program locks up immediately, with that icon on the mouse.

The mouse still moves, but nothing is clickable.

This happens on any model.

The only way to close the program is via Window's Task Manager (Close Process).

Anyone else have this experience?

photorender crashes

Barry,

I don't experience the symptoms that you are describing when using Photorender. I have had Photorender crash on occasions. It seems to be a bit unstable. I have noticed that most of my crashes come when I change many, many things while experimenting. I am not so experienced with Photorender so I do a bit of experimenting to try to get the effects that I want. But, all crashes I can remember resulted in Photorender taking itself down and Windows XP offering to send a message to report it (no need to enter TaskManager).

Are you using XP? It is very stable compared the past Windows products.

I am using Win2000, which is very stable with all the other software I use. I think I must try Photorender on my laptop (which is also Win2000) but then at least I have a comparison.

PhotoRender lockup on zoom

Hi there, I've noticed with XP that the system is especially sensitive to zoom/pan/scale when you're trying to do anything else at the same time.

Not sure why this is, suspect it's because of the autobackup stuff that's happening behind the scenes on all Microsoft Windows programs.

Suspect it's caused by a moment of too much info happening, is there any program running you don't need? Check Control/Alt/Delete. Also do you have any adware hiding and also taking up processor time? AdAware6 from LavaSoft is free and efficient at removing all such leeches.

Perhaps these suggestions will help, let me know.

I have eventually (just today) installed a new Video card, namely a Nvidia GeForce FX2500 and the Photorenderer rotate and zoom issue has now been resolved.

The old Video card was a SIS 650

Just thought I would let you know, incase someone else encounters the same problem.
