Planar spiral

I wasn't able to find a planar spiral to be cut. The helical does multiple options, but a planar Spiral is not among them. Am I expecting too much ?

No. It does not. The pitch does whatever, and 0.0 is not possible.
To me ... a planar spiral means radius proportional rotation angle.
Here the radius is constant.

I actually want it to have a depth, being a cut.

By choosing such a small pitch value - the radius is nearly constant. If you use a larger pitch value the nature of the spiral become more obvious.

The spiral above is closer, but the pitch cannot be negative, for going inward.

Use the Reverse option for the spiral to go inwards.

René, to sum it up briefly, I recommend the following, using Alibre Design V28.1.1:
If a pitch is required and is not set to 0, use the Helical (Cut) feature with or without the Reverse option, depending on your requirements.
If you really want to use the Helical (Cut) feature in this case, use a pitch of 0.000001, with or without the Reverse option, depending on your requirements.

If the pitch must be 0,000000 use the Revolve (Cut) feature instead.

I'm not able to use a newer version, I left the subscription. But the reverse pitch did the trick.
For whatever reason, neither png, nor jpg files are loaded properly

I referred to the version to avoid misunderstandings.
What value did you use for the pitch?
I'm asking because I can't see anything on the screenshot.

The pitch now is 25mm. Reverse

Odd... a screenshot turns up blank here, a picture from the camera is visible...
The diameter of the structure is 39mm, the pitch is 25mm
