Problems running Alibre Design Expert

Hello, I finally upgraded my old XP system, transferred all my data using Laplink PC mover and reinstalled Alibre Design Expert 11.1. The install seemed to go as expected with no issues, but now when I click on ADE nothing happens, the program simply wont start. My new system is running Window 7 Pro and I have attempted to launch the program in every compatibility mode available with with no luck! My perpetual license key is still active and still works on my old system. I'm not getting any error codes or anything, it just wont run, what am I missing. I need to get this working!

I've a feeling that versions as old as that are not Win7 compatible.

Hunt around - some users reported good experiences using Microsoft's XP virtual machine (can't recall what it is called).

Windows 7 = Alibre Design V12.1 or newer.
