Sheet metal cut function

Hi all,
I don't use sheet metal much but just having a play around with it. If I do a cut out on certain planes it doesn't seem to cut the shape properly. Not sure if this is an actual feature to make you do cuts on a certain plane.

You can sort of see it on this image, triangle type shapes have made a thru square cut in 2 directions, and not in the other?

Cheers

My 2cents worth:
Sheet metal cutout sketches are expected to be on the face being cut, like the outline of a punch, just like the top triangle.
It looks like you are trying to create a bending crease but the way you are doing it is confusing the program.

I did wonder if that was the case, I came across it by accident. Didn't really think about the orientation and had it go thru everything. I checked the? Help page and it doesn't have anything specific in there.
Thought I'd mention it in case it is a bug or something?

Sheet metal cuts don't need to be made on the face, but they do have a special function. Anywhere the sheet metal part is cut by the sheet metal cut it will be cut completely thru the part. This is very necessary for many sheet metal designs as their flat patterns are often cut without beveled edges. If you don't want that to happen (for example you can bevel cut, or for secondary operations) then use the standard part cut feature. Check "Show Part Modeling Tab in Sheet Metal" on the display options to get access to that. But beware that some part features (or some ways you can use them) can screw up the flat pattern.
