Strange Behavior When Saving STEP Files

I have noticed when saving imported STEP files Alibre will blow away the first two characters of the file name and replace them with symbols when saving the part. I was wondering if anyone else is seeing this and/or what might be causing it? I have version 26 running on Windows 7, I don't recall ever seeing this until I upgrade to version 26.

I'm using v26 in Windows 10 and don't have that issue.

If you can post the step file here someone on Windows 10 could try it.

It is not just one file it's all of them, files from customers and anything I download from McMaster Carr.
Attached is a recent one, maybe there is something in that the system doesn't like.

Opened your part, did a Save As and got this:


BTW, this file opened in v25. Not sure why since I have v26 installed and running along side v25. I thought it would have launched v26.

Here are my results on V25 w/ Windows 7. I imported it without any face processing or healing 5 times and got a different name each time.

Looks like I'm not the only one getting the strange file names.

That's pretty odd. Could there be a Win 7 setting that is causing it?
