Hello!

I need a quick answer about templates- it is possible to use/ prepare tempaltes from dwg or dxf file? I will be making some drawings- this will be a drawings from my friend's project, and he ask me for help with some drawing- but there is one hitch- drawings have to be on the same templates (tables etc). I don't have any expirience in tempaltes in AD (my version is V25), and I am looking for some tips, how to do it.

Thanks in advance!

You can make your own templates by customizing the ones that come with Alibre or start with a blank sheet.

Suggest:
1) Create a new drawing, blank template, sized correctly for what you're trying to achieve.
2) Open separately the DWG file.
3) Right click on the DWG space > Activate Sketch on Sheet
4) Select All > Copy
5) Go to the blank drawing you made in step 1
6) Right click > Activate sketch on Sheet
7) Paste
8) Reposition the pasted block as needed.
9) Save this drawing as MyTemplate.AD_Drw somewhere.

Now start a new drawing. When selecting a template, click Browse... and find mytemplate.ad_drw and proceed as normal.
