threads

I am trying to figure out how (if possible) to print a hose barb with pipe threads and how o print a block with matching threads so I can screw the hose barb into the block.
I have been through help and assuming I want external thread, but i seem to be lost.
is this a lost cause?

Threads of the sort you have there are only indicators for visuals and drawings.
Actual threads need to be constructed with helical cuts or bosses. ie either cut a thread into the od (like a lathe) or add a thread to the root diameter (like winding string around a bar)

Hose barbs do not have helical features as the helix could give the fluid being contained a path from which to leak. When I've modeled them in the past, I usually extrude a triangular shape radially around the "tube" end of the fitting.
