I use several different CAD/CAM packages for designing pinewood derby cars, it just depends what I’m trying to do. Sometimes it’s easier to get something done in one package over the other. But I thought I’d share how to make a pinewood derby car with Alibre/CAM exclusively. There are two videos for this Tutorial. One is for creating and programming the car with a machining video at the end. The other is for making custom decals to finish off the car. This is a free model on GrabCAD so give it a shot.
Alibre is my go to tool for creating all my assemblies and renders. Some of my cars are designed in alibre others in fusion. If you want to see more subscribe to my youtube channel (Pinewood CNC) as I will be putting out more content as I get it done.
My goal is to introduce and excite kids and parents to the wonderful world of manufacturing.
