Great to see API updates!! I may release AlibreObjectModel projects sooner and update old editor addons.

Watch the forum for beta release details.

Full release will depend very much on what issues the beta throws up. Due to the UI overhaul, there has been a huge amount of additional in-house testing beyond that for a routine version update - so hopefully very few issues will show up in beta.

Some of the sheet metal guys are going to be happy with the updated Flat Pattern bend annotations. I never used them in my work since we had CNC press brakes and programmed off the formed views, but those using older, or non-CNC machines, and hand brakes are going to be happy.

And what kind of part has 300 flanges? o_O That's got to be some complicated part.

rough guess on release date target
Highly dependent on beta.
Needless to say, but I think we're excited. I know I am, but, Just in a rush to post?
Well, I can control many things, but I cannot control if your browser recolors our website :)

I've removed all those posts since they are both non-additive and also specific to your web browser.

Improving the API platform's integration with C++ is a great goal for AD. This will really help with the development of add-ons, such as the one our contributor Stepalibre is currently working on. In my opinion, the Add-on Area Moments 2D Sketch is the most significant contribution in years.
I’d also like to highlight the contributions of Nate, idslk, Olbelt, bolsover, ajayre, oldfox, and so many others I can’t recall right now.
I’ll just say one thing: the Area Moments 2D Sketch add-on has elevated the program to a whole new level.

Stoked. Some of those will be real click-savers. And my inner OCD gremlin is excited about the harmonization of the UI.
This is the stuff that makes paying for maintenance an automatic no-brainer for me.

Wooooh.
Nice

I like especially the changeable default options for the project to sketch menu.
And a better dark mode is always welcome.

What I wish to have seen would be the option to bind the multiselect option on the shift key to the ctrl key.

Has someone on the team experimented with linux yet?

I just upgraded my laptop to a newer unit, it came with a 4K display (3840 x 2160) on a 14" format. My previous unit had this also, but I had given up on using it and opted to a small resolution since most programs five years ago didn't play well with High Resolution settings.

It seems very functional with most programs, but Alibre is still lagging. I've followed all the tips of the user docs for Vers. 28 and still having issues. Most are dialog boxes that Alibre uses not conforming to some of the display requirements. Need a magnifying glass to read some of the text. Yet the menu system and Explorer system work as they should.

I tend to follow the most recent releases (I like living on the Bleeding Edge) so I'm curious should I just postpone dealing with this til V29 releases or is it using the same dialog boxes? Will V29 solve some of this or should I begin addressing the issues since they will be the same?

Paul

I'd suggest running the v29 Beta when it is released (soon), that should give you a pretty good idea of how AD will perform on the new laptop.

playing around,

in assembly mode:

project to sketch doesn't dock.
New part > right click >>2 options: edit part in sub ass./edit root ass. (should be (not sure) edit here/edit in sep. window)

So far no major issues :)

Hence, hope to get rid of that phone home thing...
