View Cube relabel?

I may be late in raising this question, but my mind really struggles around the naming conventions on the View Cube. Is there a way to relabel the cube for the user?

I come from the automotive industry. Look at this picture, a frame of a mid-engine vehicle. Top, Bottom, Front, Back are all correct. But sorry, the sides are not labeled correctly


Is there a way for me to relabel the cube? As it is configured now, either left/right or front/back is mislabeled.

Or am I all mixed up and Alibre is correct? I've been wrong before.

It looks to me like the assembly is just oriented wrong. Can't it be reconstrained to match the view cube?

Harold, If I change the side-side orientation to match the cube, then the front -back is incorrect. Or if I flip it over then the top-bottom is off.

I might be missing something in the use of Alibre but can't get it to display properly

A solution is to create two parts one for the actual geometry (PART-1A-DESIGN) and a part that use part boolean unite to rotate the part when I don't want to change the coordinate system keeping the part at the same origin but with a custom orientation applied for the assembly.




Or you could constrain the part so its orientation is correct, which is what @HaroldL is suggesting. This should not affect the other views. If it does, then you'll need to recreate all your constraints to reflect how you want everything to be oriented to match the view cube. If your parts don't all have matching orientations (the view orientation matches the assembled view orientation) then you'll need to make them all match or they won't be correctly oriented when assembled.

If this is only a labeling issue, I don't think switching left and right on the view cube would work or make sense. Alibre is y up and they match.
