2d sketch dimensioning issue

Hi,

I had tested Alibre Xpress some time ago and have found a 2d sketch dimensioning issue:

I have created simple 2d sketch, added a few horizontal dimensions, and starting to add vertical dimensions, I was confused because it was not created correctly - is looks like secondary dimension "(2.233)" and there is no way to set its size.

Here is the sequence of the screen shots:
http://elektromodely.com/cad/alibre00010.gif - 2d sketch will be created
http://elektromodely.com/cad/alibre00011.gif - sketch done
http://elektromodely.com/cad/alibre00012.gif - added dimensions

You have an equal constraint with one of the horizontal lines, that is why. The length of the vertical line will be determined by the dimension of the horizontal one. If that's not what you want, then delete the constraint.

Thank you very much for your reply, it seems Alibre Xpress is a way too predictive in 2d sketching ;-)

I agree that sometimes AD will "over" anticipate the use of it's IMPLIED Constraints. It may be helpfull when sketching to have the display of constraints turned on and, depending on your graphics setup, set to large constraint symbols.
That way, when you see AD adding an IMPLIED constraint that you dont want, you can hold down the CTRL & SHIFT keys and keep the constraint from being added.
If you are trying to drag nodes around in sketch mode that wont move due to Constraints you can press CTRL while dragging and the Constraint will be broken.
