Alibre suddenly will not start/run

I tried to run Alibre last night (on a laptop it has been running on for over 6 months) and got the error message...

License Installation was not successful.
Contact Alibre support or you reseller.
Error code: -10000483 : Invalid Error Code

The only option is "EXIT"

No option to check or re-install the License Key. Just kicks me out.
My License is valid thru next May.
I ran "Repair". No help.
I un-installed Alibre, including the Alibre folder under AppData. Reinstalled. Didn't fix it.
About an hour prior to seeing this message I did update the laptop to Java 8 Update 191.
Could this be the problem?
Any suggestions on how to fix this are greatly appreciated.

PS the Error code -1000483 changes every time I try to start Alibre. Could be 10000566 or 10000331 or 10000367 or anything. Not sure if this means anything.

Be sure to send this problem through to support - even if you're not on maintenance

Invalid Error Code indicates that the computer has lost synch with the licensing server. You need to re-set the communication - do this by deleting the .lic file in hidden folder C:\Users\<username>\AppData\Local\Alibre Design where <usrename> represents your windows login account name.

After deleting the .lic file - re-boot the computer then re-start Alibre, you'll have to re-enter your activation code.
