OK, just for kicks and grins, I updated my Alibre to V11.2 to see what's new and found I could import Solidworks files (but not export as I do not have the license). Here is what I found.
Parts import as a dumb stp file. I assume they would export the same back to SW.
Assemblies import, but are a jumbled mess as their previous orientation in SW is obliterated.
What is the point of AD Translate if the above are the results?
Is the "for sale" version of Translate any better?
I have great luck with V10 and importing SW stp and acis files and exporting them back to SW.
Could someone at AD please read some of the enhancement requests and implement them before adding another useless "for charge" enhancement again?
Here's hoping V12 is a killer release!
