Alibre WFS & File Hamster Questions

Anyone using Alibre WFS and File Hamster?

I have read (some on the forum) that it is a slickery version control program and an easy back-up tool, but what about file management?

Will it allow you to rename a file and when you do, will the links to drawings, assemblies, etc., remain intact?

Can you copy/move files into it and out from WFS directories?

Thanks!

I looked at File Hamster when I was frustrated by the Alibre Vault. It is OK for keeping versions of a Part. However, when opening an earlier version of an Assembly it looks for the latest version of the Part rather than the Part version associated with the Assembly version. When I hit that problem I decided File Hamster was unsuitable for me and dropped it.

If you are looking to File Hamster because the Alibre Vault is not working for you, I suggest that you go to USING THE VAULT LIKE THE REPOSITORY and and with a few more hours of work you may find the Alibre Vault can work for you.
