Altering parts from the Alibre Parts Library

I am trying to use a piece of angle-stock from the parts library, and I get a choice of one 1 inch or 18 feet long.

I expected to be able to use the 1 inch version, and edit to the length that I want, and have to believe this is possible.
However, I have not yet figured it out, or found anything written about this.

Any suggestions?

If you have Alibre Design Professional or higher you can use the Push Pull Face/Sketch Tool to extend the flat side of the part. Based on the fact you have the parts library you probably do have the Direct edit tools.

I read the book a couple of years ago. I can recommend it as a valuable reference guide and sits well alongside the user reference manual and tutorials. The book I have was written around V9 and I don't think it has been updated since, but I may be wrong.
