My version is called Solidworks Part Modeler 2004. It will not allow Assemblies (so only single parts) and no 2D drawings or advanced either as they are greyed out on the new window.

Very limited but it does have configurations of some kind. Not sure how to use them yet though. SW does allow for sepperation of faces from the solid and this means things like independent face colors and suppression of face.

It also has a working CosmosXpress analysis wizard (nice). The smart dimension in the 3D viewer is really handy. I would like that type of thing in Alibre. All they would need to do is add the dimension to the screen as they already do measurement in 3D.

It does allow inserting of a part into a part (not like an assembly but maybe for a boolean ...still checking it out). Also it allows for direct import into a sketch plane (plane can be defined as a part face too) of dwg/dxf file.

No exports or imports that I can find either.
