Anyone know why my STEP import into HS looks strange?

Hi,

I have made a cable with a 3D-spline, export to STEP and imported in HS and the result is not pretty..
Anyone know why this is??

Got this message from Bunkspeed
We have founds many issues with STEP files coming from Alibre. Maybe GermanRalf can suggest some settings adjustments when exporting.

Thanks, Thomas

Ralf any suggestions?

Hallo Martin,

The problem is your modell.
Overlapping extrusions...3D Sketch with Loft -> Extrusion

How should the HS or other "import tools" know/recognize where the volume/extrusion ends and where the next volume/extrusione starts.

Hello Ralf,
I am unable to open the above file to see what the issue is that you spoke of.
Could you please explain more specifically what the error was in the original part?
Thank you.

Hey, maybe we should start a gallery of failed Hypershot imports/renders...

This one was a modeling mistake, of course, but it took me a good while to figure it out.

Garet, take a look of the saying of the Alibre user Oldbelt (73): Do it right first time!

That's great advice! Doing it right the first time saves a lot of trouble... I'll keep that in mind for future projects
