Best way to seperate designs

I have a design of a machine that I want to copy, and then modify into something a little different. I do not want the files from design 1 to be linked to design 2. There are no drawing files. What would be the best way to save the full file set of design 1 to a different location, and be able to modify it without affecting design 1. Package? Save All As? Will Windows Copy/Paste work?

I'd go with 'Save All As' from the assembly file.

Don't even consider copy/paste - it's a recipe for disaster.

Yup, fully understood this.
Just was not sure if internal file reference ID's would pose a "cross pollination"problem. :?

Make sure you use the right save method. Here is a helpful chart I made a while back. I believe it is still an accurate description of the behavior.
