Bill of Material

The BOM goes through each sub assembly in an "assembly", and lists all parts that make up each sub assembly.

I have a need to list the sub assemblies that make up an assembly, but not list the parts [that is done from each sub assembly.]

In some cases, a "part" is modeled from several Alibre-parts, then brought together as a "subassembly." I want to list that in the bill of materials only by the sub assembly name, not the pieces that make up that actual part.

Can anyone suggest a way to force BOM to list assemblies, instead of parts?

When modifying the properties of an assembly be sure to check the check box "Treat as part in BOM". This will clear up the parts list of sub-assembled components, provided you do the operation for all sub-assemblies.
