Does anyone know how to make a column which shows the weight of each part, but totalized over the quantity (= quantity * weight).

In case of having an assembly containing subassemblies, I would like to have the BOM also build up per each subassembly.

Does anyone know the trick for that?

I have often wanted to have total weight of an assembly.
The only way, I so far have found is to export the BOM as an exel file and
make the calc. : quantity * weight and the assembly weight sum there.

The other thing you ask for is a partslist with subassembly levels,
Alibre has not such a list. A work around is to built it in exel.

Yes, up till now I also only found the solution by exporting the BOM into Excel.

Still hope to find a solution within GM.

I'd like to do something similar for cost, too - it would be nice to have a running total when trying out options.

Have you tried the 'Total Weight' property ?

Obvious really but only just thought of it - total weight of an assembly, place it in a higher level assembly and produce the BoM for that.
