To add on to this thread:
I have some parts that must be printed 2 or more colours. I know the required file type is 3ds. Here is my question: How should I go about modelling this? So far I have modelled each colouras a separate part, created an assembly from the parts, exported as step, imported into MoI and exported as 3ds. My concern is should these items be printed won't they just end as separate pieces (due to initial design process)? What is the best method for designing a multicolour part for 3D printing?
