Copying & pasting surfaces

I created a surface from some faces & I want to copy the surface so I can paste it into a new file and thicken it.
Anyone know how to this?

Please take a look:

Existing 3D Part:
.

Step 1

"Create Surface from Face"
.

 

[Ralf]

Step 2
.
Delete all existing 3D Features
( If you want, also all 2D Sketches)
.

Step 3
.
Now you have a: Surface
.

 

[Ralf]

Step 4
.
Thicken Surface
.

 

[Ralf]

Done
Save As.. with a different name ...
.
