Customize home screen

The number of recent files shown on the home screen is somewhat arbitrary. It currently shows 12 projects.
There couldn't be more ? Perhaps with a scrollbar at the side or bottom.

The quantity is much larger in a workspace > File > Open Recent. Of course, that requires you to have something open already, but just FYI.

This is a setting ? I want to see the parts as shown above, not their names only. The shown home screen is limited to just what I showed, cannot be resized. Even though I have a 4K screen with this one sitting somewhere in a corner, it shows me the last 12 opened parts. Give me a scrollbar beside this list of pictures.
