cutting a cylinder at an angle

I am trying to cut a cylinder at an angle (making a scoop), and I really don't know how to do it. I tried making a plane, but I couldn't get it on an angle. I am not sure of the angle, whatever looks correct.

Does anyone know how to do this? I am running V26 Design Expert.

Assuming that I understand you correctly, this should be a pretty easy thing to accomplish.

The easiest way would be to sketch a right triangle on a bisecting plane, then to an extrude cut.

And if that isn't what you had in mind, you can use the "rotation of plane/axis tool to create a plane at any angle, using the X, Y or Z axis. Using that tool to create the same part as above.
