Design tables, configurations, IPart equivalents?

I have SW 2005, Inv 9 and just got Alibre 8 Pro. Does Alibre have anything equivalent to design tables, configurations or Inventor IParts yet? ie an easy way to have multiple configurations spreadsheet driven of various flanges in a single part.

I cannot determine how, (or if), you can use a range of spradsheet data to automatically drive multiple configuarations. I have only been succesful in a single excel entry driving a part variable. Am I missing something, does layers figure into this somehow or has Alibre just not advanced quite that far yet?

This lack of functionality could be a serious issue for me.
Maybe we both missed something!?
I cannot see how the design layers can offer this functionality.
I would have expected lots of users screaming for this as many of them seem to have access to other systems that have it!

I also find this a weak point. In fact the interface to drive it from Excel is not very powerful and not very handsome.
You can only point at a certain cell and the contents of this cell is used.
However if you insert rows , the reference is gone.
Improvement here would be very welcome.
