Disconnect reference

I have a sketch on top of another. The new sketch is referenced to the underlying one by whatever distances, perhaps mentioned as variable in the formula editor. When the new sketch is fully defined, it turn black. How can I disconnect this reference, such that it turns orange or even red again ? Deleting and redrawing is a bad choice as the variables associated with it are deleted.

If you create a sketch using Project to sketch and tick Maintain Association then the new sketch turns black and the lines will have an associated mark on them.

Hover over the mark to select it and then delete it.
